First lady visits Bayelsa State

Her Excellency Hajia Turai Yar'Adua The First lady of The Federal Republic of Nigeria pays an offical visit to Bayelsa State. She is expected in Yenagoa on the 13th of December 2008. She will be recieved by The Executive Governor of Bayelsa State Chief Timipre Sylva.

Oil & Gas

Bayelsa Holds the largest crude oil reserve in Nigeria. Over 40% of the country’s on shore crude oil is produced in Bayelsa which also has significant quantity of natural gas deposits and she is the Host to oloibiri where oil was first found in commercial quantity in 1956 before Nigeria gained her Independence. The economy of Bayelsa is N2.17 trillion in Gross State Production (GSP) or approximately $18.57bn.
